Businesses in Hamilton will soon be polishing pitches, figures and business plans for the second annual Lion's Lair.

In the Lion's Lair, 10 Hamilton companies get the opportunity to pitch ideas to a panel of Hamilton business experts.

To the winner goes the spoils. And $100,000 in cash and resources.

Before facing the panel, finalists will undergo two months of training sessions sponsored by Hamilton Economic Development.

The panel that decides who gets the lion's share of everything includes Sophia Aggelonitis, a former Liberal MPP and founder of Sauces by Sophia, Nick Bontis McMaster of Bontis on Business, and many others.

These 30 minute sessions will be filmed and shown at a gala event hosted at Carmen's on Oct. 4.

Tickets to the event are on sale now, and can be obtained online by visiting pitch-it.ca, which features profiles of the finalists, media information, interactive elements, and a mobile app powered by Lion's Lair 2011 winner, Weever Apps.
