An attempted robbery Tuesday morning left a female worker with head injuries.

At 11 a.m., a man entered a business on Upper Ottawa St. and Rymal Rd. and attempted to open the till. The woman was in the back room at the time, and when she heard a noise and went to investigate she found the man jimmying the register.

Before running out of the store, the suspect shoved the woman, causing her to fall and hit her head.

She was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect fled the area before police arrived.

He is described as a white man, five-foot 11-inches tall, in his 20s with a thin build and a clean-shaven face. He was wearing a hooded black jacket and dark blue jeans. Police continue to investigate.
