Webster's Falls is definitely one good reason to visit the Hammer, what's your? (Sheryl Nadler/CBC)
Hamilton sometimes gets overlooked by Canadian travellers, but a Reader's Digest Canada list of the top six cities to visit in Canada proves it's a desirable destination.
The list also included Ontario cities Kingston and Manotick, along with Halifax; New Westminister, B.C. and Ladner, B.C.
Why did Hamilton make the final cut? According to Reader's Digest, the beautiful greenery and heritage buildings make it picture perfect for vacationers.
"Though Hamilton is known for its heavily industrial waterfront (where the city’s steel industry is based), the 500,000-strong city also has a leafy downtown neighbourhood that’s set against a backdrop of forested escarpment and is resplendent with century homes, parkland and quaint shops," it read.
But Hamiltonians know there's much more the city has to offer than old buildings and waterfalls, from the vibrant art scene to the world-class research from our university and hospitals. So we want to know: what do you think is the best reason to travel to #HamOnt?
