A 25-year-old man ended up in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries Tuesday morning after a hotel heist that left him without his wallet, cellphone or car.
Around 1:30 a.m., the man went to the hotel to meet up with a female friend. When he got to her hotel room, a women let him in, but he was attacked by two armed men — one had a gun, the other a knife. They stole his wallet, cellphone and then fled the area in the man's car.
They drove the stolen car to the Kitchener-Waterloo area and were later arrested with the help of Waterloo Regional police.
The car was recovered and a warrant was executed at a Waterloo home where the firearm was discovered.
Police believe this was a targeted incident and continue to investigate.
