Staff member at Hamilton Irish pub charged with assault

A staff member at a downtown Irish pub is charged with assaulting a patron during an early morning fracas on the weekend.
A fight broke out between two men outside Slainte Irish Pub around 1 a.m. on Nov. 4, Hamilton Police Service says.
During the altercation, a 26-year-old man was left lying on the ground. The fight ended but as staff members were heading back into the bar, one staff member continued the assault on the victim and kicked him in the head, police say.
The victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The 30-year-old staff member was arrested and charged with assault.
