Police arrested an intoxicated man for walking into a house in downtown Hamilton Friday night — because it wasn't his house.

Around 10 p.m., police were called about an intoxicated man banging on doors on John Street North, near Cannon Street East.

When they arrived, police were told that the 39-year-old Hamilton man had walked into the house twice and the homeowner had to forcibly remove him.

Police arrested the man and took him to a detox centre and ticketed him for public intoxication.
