Hamilton police are looking for a man who tried to steal a cash register from a convenience store.
Hamilton police are looking for a brick wielding man who tried to steal a cash register from a Wellington Street North convenience store Saturday night.
Police say a man whose face was concealed by a sweater came into the store about 8:50 p.m. and demanded cash.
He was holding a brick.
As he attempted to run from the store he was confronted by a second employee, dropped the cash register and ran.
The would-be thief is described as white, with a brown goatee. He is in his late 20s with a medium or stocky build, 5-feet-7-inches tall.
He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and knee length shorts.
A few minutes later, a different man attempted to steal a cash register from a convenience store on Mary Street North. This time the would-be thief got the register out the door but was tackled by a passing motorist.
The suspect is described as white, 22, 5-feet-2-inches tall. He is skinny, has acne and was wearing black short pants, a black T-shirt and black shoes.
