There is a new human case of West Nile virus in Hamilton.

The number of probable or confirmed cases of people with the virus has risen from seven last week to eight as of Tuesday.

As of Aug. 28, there were 82 confirmed or probable human cases in Ontario.

There was also one positive mosquito pool found in Hamilton from Aug. 28 to 31. It was in lower Stoney Creek.
