More than 13,000 homes and businesses damaged or wrecked; 6000 people
completely homeless.
It must have seemed like an overwhelming job sometimes, but Halifax and
Dartmouth began to rebuild. From the search for scapegoats, to the steady
progress of carefully-planned rebirth, the city moved on, and some people
tried to forget.
