0700 Tom Jackson is touring his Huron Carole throughout Canada. It's his annual series of concerts which bring together Canadian singers and performers in aid of the Canadian Association of Food Banks. Tom explained why he initially started the Huron Carole, and revived it several years ago, when he joined Mary Ito. 0800 Dr. Karen Yeates of Kingston has just received an almost $2 million award from Grand Challenges Canada for her medical work in Africa.
Dr. Yeates is an assistantt professor in the Deptment of Medicine at Queen's University and co-founder of the university's Office of Global Health. She joined Mary in studio to talk about her passion for her work in Tanzania.
