0730 CBC Books is building a Cross-Country Cookbook Shelf. Food-loving experts across Canada are putting forward their five top cookbooks from the place they call home. Then, you can vote on which book from each part of the country should claim a coveted spot on the Cookbook Shelf. Alison Fryer from The Cookbook Store in Toronto joined Mary Ito with her five nominees.

0830 Shine On: The Universe of John Lennon is the title of Michael Occhipinti's new album. In it, the musician, arranger and producer is joined by some fellow Toronto-based jazz heavyweights to create new interpretations of John Lennon's music. Michael came into the Fresh Air studio to talk about his motivations for making the CD.
