SATURDAY May 28

0730 Wild and wierd weather. It's been in the news and all around us. Stories about tornadoes in the United States have dominated recent headlines. But Ontario is no stranger to severe weather...and that includes tornadoes of our own. Geoff Coulson is a warning preparedness meteorologist at Environment Canada. He told Mary Ito what we can expect at this time of the year and how we can prepare ourselves for nature's furies.
Listen audio (runs 9:23).

0800 You're at your favourite restaurant. You've ordered a bang-up meal. You take your first bite...and it's terrible. What should you do?
Fresh Air's new consumer advocate, Citizen Talin, tackled this topic when she joined Mary. Get the goods by visiting Talin's column.

0830 Toronto-based, singer/songwriter Prita Chhabra has no problem with her Indo-Canadian identity... but other people do. That's something that she addresses in her new song Roots. Prita joined Mary to talk about the challenges that she faces...and how she's (cheerfully) surmounting them.
Listen audio (runs 10:47) to Prita and Mary.
Prita will appear at Toronto's Young-Dundas Square tonight (May 28) at 6:15 as part of DesiFest.
