There is nothing basic about this recipe. Put on a cozy scarf and try out Shahir’s take on Pumpkin Spice Syrup. Your life — and your morning coffee — will never be the same again!
2 cups water
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
½ cup pure pumpkin puree
2-3 cinnamon sticks
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp ginger
Add all ingredients to a medium sauce pan except for cinnamon sticks. Whisk mixture and then add the cinnamon. Reduce over medium heat until it’s the consistency of honey, about 20 minutes.
Remove cinnamon sticks, strain and transfer into a glass heatproof bottle. Cool and store in the fridge. Enjoy!
Servings: Makes approximately 2 cups of syrup
