Original Super 7 ticket is purchased in St. Catharines, Ontario at a store called That’s Entertainment.

End of 2003

The original lottery ticket is redeemed at the Variety Plus convenience store in Burlington where Jun-Chul Chung and his son work. The ticket wins a free play for the draw on December 26.

December 26, 2003

The Super 7 draw that night is worth $12.5 million dollars.

The Super 7 free play ticket is validated at Variety Plus in Burlington. It’s a jackpot winner.

February 5, 2004

Kathleen Chung goes to the prize office to claim the jackpot. She does not tell officials that she is related to the people who work at the store where the winning ticket was validated. She also cannot remember any details about where or when she purchased the ticket.

September 1, 2004

The OLG hold on to the prize money. In an email on this date, one official details his concerns about the Chung claim.

December 26, 2004

The Super 7 ticket expires. Some time after this date, the OLG awards all the money to Kathleen Chung. There is no fanfare and no press release.
