According to Statistics Canada the average Canadian is consuming 26 teaspoons of sugar a day. That’s the equivalent of 40 kilos a year – twenty bags of sugar. All this, while the American Heart Association now recommends that people cut back on added sugar, dramatically. Men should have no more than 9 teaspoons a day. Women 6.
