For thousands of young Hondurans, the only hope of finding a way out of the grinding poverty of their existence
is to begin a perilous journey of up to 5000 km that will take them to 'el norte'--the north;
either the United States or Canada. By foot, by train, always on the lookout for murderous gangs
that prey on the desperate travellers, they risk their lives to reach the promised land where,
as illegals, they might be able to earn some a little money to send home.
