THE MURDER

The building where Fatima rented an apartment from Adel Wahid, a chauffeur.

After her trip home she discovered that she would be sharing it with his brother, Youssef Wahid.
July 17, 1999
Fatima spends most of the day with her new boyfriend.

2:00 - 3:00 p.m.
The concierge at the Dorchester Hotel orders a first class plane ticket for Fatima Kama. Kama is supposed to pick up and pay for the ticket in Terminal 3, Heathrow Airport.

Fatima Kama visits Fadi Fadel. She tells Fadel that she is going home on Sunday. Fatima stays with Fadel for about 15 minutes before leaving in a black Mercedes. Fadi Fadel tells police that he and Kama agreed to meet later that evening, at 10:00 p.m.

4:00 p.m.
Estimated time that Fatima returns to her apartment in Portsea Hall.

5:00 p.m.
Fatima Kama calls her sister Laila. Kama also talks with her mother and tells her she will be flying home the next day. She also tells her mother she has money and jewelry worth between 30 000 and 50 000 British pounds with her, from working as a singer at occasions such as weddings.

6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Estimated time of murder.

9:30 p.m. to 10:35 p.m. - A man identified as Youssef Wahid is videotaped at Paddington Station and Heathrow airport.

9:30 p.m.
Video surveillance captures Youssef Wahid purchasing a ticket at Paddington Station's Heathrow Express kiosk.

Just after 9:30 p.m.
Taxi driver confirms that he picked up Youssef at Paddington Station, drove him back to Portsea Place and waited for him to come out with a suitcase.

9:58 p.m.
Video surveillance captures Youssef Wahid entering Paddington Station with a suitcase on a trolley. He travels down the concourse and crosses by the ticket booth.

10:24 p.m.
Video surveillance at Heathrow airport captures the train arriving from Paddington Station. Youssef Wahid exits the train and struggles to take the suitcase off the train. He loads it onto a trolley. He travels through the terminal hallway. He is headed up to Terminal Three car park.

10:31 p.m.
Video Surveillance captures Youssef Wahid arriving at Car Park 3.

10:34 p.m.
Video Surveillance captures Youssef Wahid exiting screen, still pulling trolley.

10:35 p.m.
Video Surveillance captures Youssef Wahid crossing through screen. He no longer has the trolley or suitcase with him.

Just after 10:35 p.m.
Three women spot a suitcase on the third floor of the car park of Terminal 3 of the Heathrow airport and notify security. A Grounds Operations employee retrieves the suitcase, puts it in the back of his jeep, breaks open the padlock and looks inside. He discovers a body.

Grounds Operations immediately call Ealing Police, who immediately calls in the Serious Crime Group.

Police send the body for an autopsy. Police conduct a forensic examination and search of the car park.

Cameras capture Wahid as he returns to the airport the next day

and boards a plane for Lebanon.

July 18, 1999
9:34 a.m.

Surveillance camera captures image of Adel Wahid's car arriving at the short stay car park at Heathrow airport. In the rear of the vehicle is Youssef Wahid, clean-shaven. His mother and brother are also in the car.

11:00 a.m.
Surveillance cameras capture Youssef Wahid walking through the departure gates at Heathrow Airport, Terminal 3.

Some time on this day a forensic pathologist at Ealing Hospital mortuary, conducts a post mortem examination of Fatima's body. She concludes that Fatima has died from haemorrhage and aspiration of blood and multiple stab wounds and an incised wound to the neck.

2:00 p.m.
Police confiscate CCTV video surveillance at Heathrow Airport and Paddington Station. Detective Richard Taber of Scotland Yard will be leading the investigation.

3:00 p.m.
Youssef Wahid catches British Airways flight 6701 to Beirut, Lebanon. He has paid for the flight with cash (457 pounds). The flight will arrive in Lebanon at 2105 hours. (9:05 p.m.).

5:05 p.m.
British Airways Flight 95 to Montreal takes off without Fatima Kama.
