This is a travesty of justice and a slap in the face to the Canadian citizens. How does Mr. Mulroney have the audacity to sit and try and tell the Canadian people that he did not accept money while in office and then he failed to pay taxes on 225.000 that the CRA reduced the debt for him when you have seniors living below the poverty line ...Is the CRA willing to deduct 100.000 or more from an ordinary citizen?

When we owe any amount we are penalized severely and any amount owing is deducted in anyway that the CRA sees fit.Why are we electing these thieves to public office and what is good for the goose is not good for the gander?

They are no more than common thieves and should be punished appropriately are they above the rim. Is there so much classim in this country that they can make their own rules and standards.

We can clearly see that he is LYING.......

Enough of the charade. He should be punished for the crime of TAX EVASION ...He had enough lawyers to ascertain what was owing.

STOP TAKING THE CANADIAN PEOPLE FOR FOOLS.....

Who cares what Schreiber and Mulroney did 20 years ago. Just another way for the Liberals to waist taxpayers money.

i think its time for mr shrieber to pony up to the fifth estate.if it wasnt for the fifth estate,KHS would be on a plane to germany.i personally thought KHS led the fifth estate to the water fountain, but turned the water off,in return made the fifth esate look bad.its stories like this, that makes my blood boil about all our wonderful polititions in ottawa.thank god for the great reporters at the fifth estate for not giving up on this story.ive been following this story since the late 80s,and hope that our goverment sees justice done.to be continued(i hope).again,"great big kudos"to the entire crew at the fifth estate.with all this fiasco, its time for someone to come clean.

Contrary to what some persons commenting on Schreiber have said here, it appears that he does have evidence in the "Airbus Affair" sufficent to raise a public enquiry and/or several Court cases. Schreiber, at the very least, has demonstrated that powerful, rich people who are used to disregarding the rules of life with impunity are eventually trapped by their own hubris. How neatly did Schreiber entice all those big Tory brains to sneer at authority one last time in the House of Commons commitee, possibly perjuring themselves. Perhaps some crude natural justice does exist in the world as a function of hubris. Thank you, Karlheinz LOL

Excellent job Fifth Estate,
but still unfinished.
Any Canadian that doesn't care
about bringing this Mulroney matter
to it's full conclusion,
is giving a green light for
politicians to repeat this behavior.
Public apathy and misunderstanding
are some of the best weapons in a
crooked politician's arsenal.
So I too, look forward to a FULL disclosure
of these events.
If the 'terms of reference' must be expanded,
then all the better.
Canadians deserve to know.
History NEEDS to know.

Congratulations to The Fifth Estate team for it's excellent work on the Schreiber story. Please be careful that Harper & The Conservatives don't shut you down.

Chess master? Not likely. While your producer may think that makes for good theatrics, it links to and does a disservice to the Chess Federation of Canada and all honest chess players in Canada. Please use some other comparison next time.

Pat Martin and Linden MacIntyre. Thank you Thank you.
Mr. Mulroney avoided answering Pat Martin to refund the 2.1 Million.

Add plus interest and penalties as with us mortals please.

Remember when all this was happening Mr. Mulroney
advised us to tighten our belts, as times were tough.

Mr. Schreiber has to do it his way to expose the liars.

“Mr. Harper” is ducking the “Birds” issue.
He is not interested in letting an inquiry on it to happen.

“The Great Escape” will not make them innocent.

I am happy to learn that Schreiber had the presence of mind to delay the release of this information until the vultures had committed themselves to a story. I can only hope that parliament has the guts to hold the liars feet to the fire. This fall from grace by these politicians, and the sanctemonious whining about the destruction of his legacy, is made more disgraceful because they helped destroy any remaining trust between the politicians and the people of this country.

An interesting Saga, one I look forward to resuming in Feb/09. Schreiber appears to have played his trump cards at THE most opportune times. The question remains, does he have enough trump to outdo Mulroney and his lying cohorts?

Steve  NS — Posted on December 4, 2008 10:39 AM

Mulroney's past testimony is reminiscent of a line of dialogue from the '75 film '3 Days of the Condor' when a government operative is admonished with "you guys are really something , you think that not getting caught in a lie is the same as telling the truth." Amen in this case.

Karlheinz Schreiber is brilliant, the man deserves a medal !

He made them show that that they are liars and corrupt !

Edmond  — Posted on December 4, 2008 12:29 AM

A terrific show bringing us up to date; and letting us seethat things aren't always the way they looked.I hope the truth finally comes out but with all the current political hullabaloo, I hope it doesn't get buried! This should be a topic for question period tomorrow, but our government seems to have forgotton how to govern.

I've been watching the "Airbus Affair" as i call it for quite sometime. It has become quite apparent to me that Mr. Schreiber is just "yanking" our chain and just attempting to delay extradition back to Germany where true justice of his dealings will be played out.
I'm no fan of "lian' Brian" and would dearly like to see this event cleared up but i'm afraid that Mr. Schreiber is just playing the Canadian people for fools. Either he has definitive proof or he doesn't.
I suggest we put him on the first "AIr Bus" back to Germany and either he sings like a canary or we find he never had anything concrete to say/deal on the whole afffair. Just playing things out to avoid dying in a German prison.
The video of him on the "Fifth Estate" implies he has freedom of movement and he's taking us for granted.
I personally feel that there is shady dealings with the AirBus affair, but i also think it's time we call Mr. Schreibers' bluff and stop what could turn out to be more than just a "black eye" for Canadians. I've seen enough of his circus.
It's time for him to put his cards on the table or get out of the game!
