Cruel Camera (May 5, 1982)
the fifth estate first investigated the story of the Cruel Camera in 1982 after an outcry from actors and a concerned public about the harsh treatment of animals in recent Hollywood films. At the time, some prominent actors, including Clint Eastwood, refused to work in any film where animals were abused.
In it's landmark investigation, Bob McKeown and a fifth estate team discovered that fakery, cruelty and the deliberate slaughter of animals also abounds in the so-called "true-life" wildlife feature and television films.
