An excerpt of Bob McKeown's interview with Frank Watson, former Deputy Prime Minister of the The Bahamas.
The Hon Frank H Watson spent over 20 years in the Bahamian Customs
Department and rose to the rank of Deputy Comptroller. He was first
elected to the House of Assembly in 1982 and was re-elected in the
General Elections of 1987, 1992 and 1997. He served as Minister of
Public Works and Utilities, Minister of Tourism and Public Enterprises
and Minister of National Security. In 1998, as National Security
Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Watson announced that the Bahamas
military, prison service and police force would no longer discriminate
based on sexual orientation. He currently serves as Chairman of the
Airport Authority.
