Canada: The video game market (hardware, software and accessories) is at $1.6 billion, up 36% from 2007. By 2008, the video gaming industry topped $2 billion.
U.S.: The video game market (hardware, software and accessories) totals $2.91 billion in the month of November alone, and is expected to top $22 billion in 2008.
Gears of War 2 and Call of Duty: World at War (both M-rated [games deemed "suitable for persons ages 17 and older" by the Entertainment Software Association] first-person shooter games) lead in top ten best-selling games in 2008. Selling 1.56 million and 1.41 million units respectively.
