Video Interview: Nick Kypreos
Born in Toronto, Ontario, Nick Kypreos’ NHL career began with the Washington Capitals in 1989. It ended in 1997 while the 6-foot, 210-pound left-winger was playing for the Toronto Maple Leafs. During a pre-season game, Kypreos suffered a severe concussion when his head hit the ice during a fight with Ryan Vandenbussche of the New York Rangers. As well as playing for the Capitals and the Leafs, this NHL enforcer also played for the Hartford Whalers. It was with Hartford that Kypreos had his most productive NHL season, scoring 17 goals for 27 points and 325 penalty minutes. In 442 National Hockey League games Nick Kypreos accumulated a total of 1210 penalty minutes and 90 points. Kypreos currently works as a hockey analyst for Rogers Sportsnet and co-host Hockey Central at Noon on the FAN 590 radio station in Toronto.
