Help for gaming addictions

There are several groups that help with gaming addiction.

Online Gamers Anonymous
A 12-step, self-help group dedicated to helping people addicted to online gaming, and people who have been affected by online gaming because of a loved ones addiction. There is one chapter in Canada started by Brad Dorrance in London, Ontario. Before quitting gaming last year, Dorrance had been addicted to gaming for nine years. It got so bad Dorrance was no longer holding down a job, and was gaming up to twelve hours a day. He had wracked up a $23,000 credit card debt buying accounts that gave him access to new games, game currency and new computer hardware upgrades. In December 2007, ashamed that gaming had taken over his life, he tried to commit suicide. Now, he runs the Canadian site of Online Gamers Anonymous.
