Viktor & Rolf - Spring/Summer 2007
Always a welcome reprieve from the grueling pace of Paris Fashion Week, Viktor and Rolf are masters of ceremony, putting on shows that are exactly that. This time around, the Dutch duo turned a sterile auditorium in the Carrousel du Louvre into an escapist den: a smoky cabaret complete with ballroom dancers.

Composure and control are words that immediately spring to mind when recounting Viktor & Rolf’s fall 2006 collection. The design duo continued their artistic manipulation of the classics, from the mesh-topped little black dress, to the power woman’s suit that incorporates Dior’s hourglass New Look from 1947. We're pretty sure, however, that Dior never dipped his dresses in silver...Check it out.

Viktor & Rolf - Fall/Winter 2005
When Viktor and Rolf decide to tell you a bedtime story you know it’s going to be something completely extraordinary. Models paraded out with their hair splayed across frilly eyelet pillows in this bedtime fairytale. In this primarily black, white collection accented with red, the message was simple. It’s all about love.

To launch their new fragrance of the same name, Viktor & Rolf detonated a Flowerbomb in the middle of Paris, transforming a collection of sleek, sinister black into a riot of pink and girlish optimism. In the process, their twisted take on ladylike clothes became a highlight of the season.

Viktor & Rolf - Fall/Winter 2004
Viktor and Rolf, the fashion avant-gardes’ favourite twosome dropped another surprise on their fans this season. Their past two collections were celebratory and quite frenzied. For fall, the deer antlers notwithstanding, they tossed spectacle aside and made a sober restrained statement which makes these clothes all the more commercial.

Viktor & Rolf - Spring/Summer 2004
It’s been ten years since childhood friends Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren brought their unique take on fashion to the world. Through the years, they have treated the fashion pack to black lights, blue screens, tap dancing and incredibly ideological clothes. Now, with a retrospective exhibit opening at the Musee de la Mode et du Textiles, they are still surprising their followers with a beautifully commercial collection dedicated to the future.

Viktor and Rolf - Spring/Summer 2003
In an unexpected display of inhibitions run riot, Dutch designers Viktor & Rolf's ode to exuberance was a potent indicator that designers this season are responding to global instability with collections that celebrate life. This collection embodied the notion that its not just what you wear but how you wear it as models literally danced their way through the show. Viktor & Rolf are known for their intellectual rigeur but this season they went uncharacteristically whimsical with free flowing, colorful clothes with character.

Viktor and Rolf - Fall/Winter 2002
Viktor & Rolf, the red hot Dutch design team based in Paris, like to put on their fashion shows in venues too small to accomodate their ever-growing fan base. They are notoriously frustrating shows to get into, and there is always a chaotic mob scene at the door. So why, season after season, does the mob get bigger? Probably because, as fashion shows go, these tend to be worth the hassle. See what the fuss was about this season.
