Rick Owens has been spending a lot more time in Paris this year, pulling double duty designing for the house of Revillion. Now he's showing his signature collection on the prêt-a-porter calendar. In many ways, his gothic sensibility seems more at home in the City of Light than his Los Angeles roots.

Rick Owens - Fall/Winter 2002
For the past few seasons, Style.com and the heavy-hitting fashionistas that reside there have been selecting new talent and offering them a venue to showcase their work on the New York fashion calendar. For this collection, Owens looked for the heart of darkness in the California sunshine, recalling moments from his youth and contrasting the sights and sounds of the San Joaquin Valley with the rigorous fashion of Claude Montana and Thierry Mugler in the pages of old French Vogues.
