Fashion File - Jean Louis Scherrer
Jean Louis Scherrer - Fall/Winter 2005

The classic French house is looking to infuse its prêt-a-porter collection with the same Midas touch. Hoping to draw in a diverse clientele, Stephane Rolland threw a wide net with his offering for fall -- one part bohemian, one part gender bending, one part Russian aristocracy and one part girly girl, with a luxurious thread connecting them all.

Five models opened the Jean Louis Scherrer show outfitted in the working samples of Stephane Rolland’s couture designs. Demonstrating the evolution of his craft Rolland followed these samples with the final creations, the five suits treated in their exquisite fabrics. Such is the sensibility of Rolland, whose command of old world classics was updated this season with a Middle Eastern flare.
