Naoki Takizawa, the head designer at the house of Issey Miyake since 1999, never has a problem coming up with ideas for his collections. He has a knack for finding inspiration anywhere - all he has to do is take a good look around. For Issey Miyake Spring/Summer 2004 Naoki designed a multifaceted collection that combined playfulness with practicality and youthfulness with elegance.

Issey Miyake - Fall/Winter 2003

Four years into his tenure at the house of Issey Miyake, Naoki Takizawa is evolving the house away from the perfect pleat. Playing with Western references, the Fall 2003 collection is a collage of Edwardian ideas and prairie prints – although the inspiration goes to that house on the prairie as Takizawa strove to make fashion from furnishings.
