| New
York Highlights - Fall/Winter 2007 |
| From the glamourous…to the fun…to
the completely outrageous, the runways of New York offered
plenty of options to consider for Fall/Winter 2007. Here’s
a roundup of some of the biggest trends we saw... |

| Toronto
Highlights - Spring/Summer 2007 |
It may have a ways to go in comparison
to its older, more fashionable cousins, but like an awkward
defiant teen trying to find its identity amongst Paris,
Milan and New York, Toronto Fashion Week thumbs its nose
at the naysayers, without feeling the need to answer to
anyone.
Case in point - Paul Hardy, who unleashed his inner geisha.
So what if models in sky-high platforms and a grass strewn
staircase didn’t mix, the end result was the same:
pure drama. |

Highlights - Spring/Summer 2007 |
| If you’re going to show in Paris,
you better bring your A-game because there is little patience
for second-rate. This is a city, after all, that puts
fashion on a par with art, literature and fine food. Add
to that the caravan of press and buyers that arrives in
town each season tired and jaded but with big expectations
so the pressure is on to get their attention. Luckily,
spring/summer 07 was all over the map, veering from athletic
to romantic, nostalgic to full throttle into the future.
Enjoy the ride. |

| Milan
Highlights - Spring/Summer 2007 |
| New York may have sportswear and celebrities,
and Paris may dictate and direct the trends, but Milan
has sparkle -it shines, and come spring, it is determined
to bring sexy back to the streets. Some of its clothes
seem excessive and unwearable, while some are the finest
example of the “Made in Italy” moniker. Either
way, this season Milan got our attention and finessed
its message into two fine points: you'll need something
extremely short and something metallic this spring! |

| New
York Highlights - Spring/Summer 2007 |
| New York Fashion Week is first. It’s
the first peek at new clothes, new trends, new faces.
The first chance the industry gets to gather and gossip.
And so, for a week this past September, all rested up
from summer vacation, fashion journalists, followers and
a Page Six worth of celebs turned their attention to New
York for the Spring/Summer 07 collections… |

| Paris
Highlights - Fall/Winter 2006 |
| The City of Light was anything but this
season. Fall fashion on the Paris runways was universally
heavy, dark, and melancholy. Pundits talked of cocooning
against a violent world, but there was also a gothic romance
and perverse strength colouring the collections that made
for beautiful and best of all, new clothes. It’s
a season to cover up and embrace fashion’s new sobriety.
Trust us, everyone’s doing it. |

| Milan
Highlights - Fall/Winter 2006 |
| Fall/Winter 2006 was the season of the
comeback in Milan – for designers and their fabulous
friends. Tired of being picked on by Paris, Milan was
fighting back and attracting the press with a tabloid’s-worth
of stars. Paparazzi is an Italian word after all… |

Highlights - Spring/Summer 2006 |

Highlights - Spring/Summer 2006 |
| Spring/Summer 2006 was a hectic season
in Milan. The show calendar was shortened by two days
– allegedly at the request of Vogue’s Anna
Wintour. To add to Milan’s troubles, this city that
was once the hub of headline glamour, is now falling further
behind the drama and direction of the Paris runways. That
said, Italy is still capable of some surprises, some intrigue,
and some truly wonderful clothes. Check it out... |

York Highlights - Spring/Summer 2006 |
| A few months ago Fashion File braved the
late summer heat of Manhattan to cover New York fashion
week for Spring/Summer 2006. We battled in the trenches
for interviews, we asked hard-hitting questions about
the issues that matter. and we dug deep for the truth.
We also checked out a lot of runway shows - here are the
highlights. |

Highlights - Fall/Winter 2005 |
| Look at these clothes, because this is
what Fall 2005 is going to look like. There is a new conservativism
coming to fashion and as usual, Paris has nailed the zeitgeist.
Clothes are dark, somber, and strict, and most often trace
their roots to another decade. |

| Milan
Highlights - Fall/Winter 2005 |
| Milan Fashion Week for Fall 2005 was a
tricky one. The city itself was cold and rainy, and the
fashion flock was battling the mid-season blues and an
Oscar-addled schedule. Mostly, however, the somber tone
was set by the clothes, as the center of big, glitzy brands
was bogged down in black and sober shapes. Fashion in
Milan is in transition. |

| Paris
Highlights - Spring/Summer 2005 |
| To put things plainly, Paris Fashion Week
is all about the clothes. Yes, it has a few chic parties,
and yes, there are always a few celebrities to keep the
paparazzi on their toes, but the real excitement of the
week is always on the runway. For Spring 2005, designers
drove that point home with collections that were approachable,
appealing, and light as air. |

| Milan
Highlights - Spring/Summer 2005 |
| Every fashion week comes with its own personality.
Milan Spring 2005 behaved like a surly teenager. Heavy
traffic, bad scheduling, shows running extremely late,
and difficult security had to be contended with before
getting to the glitz and glamour of the season. What a
luxurious season there is look forward to! |

| New
York Highlights - Spring/Summer 2005 |
| In addition to roving gangs of screaming
paparazzi, there were endless lineups, over crowded venues
and plenty of pushy journalists. But New York fashion
week for Spring 2005 wasn't all bad - it was also a chance
to see dozens of fashion shows, to get caught up in all
the juicy gossip and to gawk at celebrities of every level.
There was plenty of good, clean fun to be had if you knew
where to look. |

Highlights - Fall/Winter 2004 |
| By the time the fashion pack gets to Paris
each season, they’ve gotten really serious about
the clothes. They’re looking to the heavyweights
in this city to gel the trends, and give them a sense
of what’s in the air. For fall 2004, Paris gave
them all that and sent them home to reflect on familiar
faces moving on to new places. |

 |
| Menswear
Highlights - Fall/Winter 2004 |
| In the small but stylish circles that intently
follow men’s fashion, Fall 2004 is gaining momentum
as the season of the suit. Urban-influenced street wear
and the sport jacket and denim-clad lad has finally been
beaten back by grownup tailoring, shirts and ties, and
all out structure. |

| Haute
Couture Highlights - Spring/Summer 2004 |
At the end of a tricky year for France
on the political scene, Paris is celebrating its venerable
couture salons with a season that highlights the history
and great traditions of an arena that many see to be struggling
against becoming obsolete.
It is easy to wonder at the absurdity of a thirty thousand
dollar lunching suit, or a single gown that demands over
a thousand hours of pains-taking labour. But for a thousand
of the world’s citizens, this is the ultimate private
indulgence. |
