Last night was the opening of the new Hermes Store in Toronto, and I have to say...they REALLY know how to do things properly. A massive cover was dropped at 6pm precisely to reveal the gorgeous new boutique, and as the sheath dropped, trumpeters played a very trumpet-y song. Guests were escorted across the street to the new location (directed by male models) and offered Hermes Hard Hats (I felt like a really trendy construction worker) then ushered into the new store. Executive Vice-President Christian Blanckaert made a speech and I got a chance to say hello to him. Gotta say, he is VERY enjoyable. He is spicy for an Exec, seems to have a great sense of humour, and obviously a passion for the house. The interior done by Rene Dumas is gorgeous, and according to Blanckaert, THIS is the nicest of all the Hermes Stores. CHECK IT OUT.
