As if Anna Wintour needed another reason for having underlings snap into a salute when she enters the room, it seems that she has just been made an Officer of the British Empire. Queen Elizabeth II is recognizing her efforts "for services to British journalism and British fashion in the U.S." by naming her to the list of honourees she compiles every year in conjunction with her official birthday celebration in June. HRH is apparently feeling quite trendy these days, as she also awarded an OBE to Brit ex-pat and Wintour-rival Glenda Bailey. We can't wait to see these two front row next season with their gold badges and lapel pins affixed to their Prada.
