The clothes on the Paris runways tend to really excite fashion insiders. But the rest of us can be left feeling…a little confused. The reason? For French designers, clothing isn’t just something to wear; it’s a work of art.

Cool models aren’t the only fashionable things coming out of London these days. There’s also a steady supply of top stylists, hair and make-up artists and photographers...as well as a lot of interesting clothes.

Milan is right in middle of the Fall fashion season and people are starting to get creative about ways to fill their time. This season, critics passed the days deliberating what was the big message from designers this fall? We'll tell you right here.

From the glamourous…to the fun…to the completely outrageous, the runways of New York offered plenty of options to consider for Fall/Winter 2007. Here’s a roundup of some of the biggest trends we saw...

It may have a ways to go in comparison to its older, more fashionable cousins, but like an awkward defiant teen trying to find its identity amongst Paris, Milan and New York, Toronto Fashion Week thumbs its nose at the naysayers, without feeling the need to answer to anyone.
Case in point - Paul Hardy, who unleashed his inner geisha. So what if models in sky-high platforms and a grass strewn staircase didn’t mix, the end result was the same: pure drama.

If you’re going to show in Paris, you better bring your A-game because there is little patience for second-rate. This is a city, after all, that puts fashion on a par with art, literature and fine food. Add to that the caravan of press and buyers that arrives in town each season tired and jaded but with big expectations so the pressure is on to get their attention. Luckily, spring/summer 07 was all over the map, veering from athletic to romantic, nostalgic to full throttle into the future. Enjoy the ride.

New York may have sportswear and celebrities, and Paris may dictate and direct the trends, but Milan has sparkle -it shines, and come spring, it is determined to bring sexy back to the streets. Some of its clothes seem excessive and unwearable, while some are the finest example of the “Made in Italy” moniker. Either way, this season Milan got our attention and finessed its message into two fine points: you'll need something extremely short and something metallic this spring!

New York Fashion Week is first. It’s the first peek at new clothes, new trends, new faces. The first chance the industry gets to gather and gossip. And so, for a week this past September, all rested up from summer vacation, fashion journalists, followers and a Page Six worth of celebs turned their attention to New York for the Spring/Summer 07 collections…
