Mining boom in Eyou Istchee

Mining is becoming a huge business in Eeyou Istchee. One third of the projects earmarked under the Plan Nord are planned for Cree territory. Mining companies have found many spots throughout Eeyou Istchee that could be potential mines. Near Mistissini at the moment, two potential mines are in progress. In Wemindji, the Eleanore mine is already running. George Gunner of Mistissini, is working to recruit people to get training to work in the mining sector. Betsy Longchap spoke with him to find out more.
