Grand Chief inspired by David's Journey

Davidjourney.jpgAfter roller blading from Montreal to raise awareness for cancer, David Coonishish has arrived at his destination - Chisasibi. Along the way, the 36 year-old inspired many people, including Grand Chief Matthew Coon Come. After meeting David along the James Bay Highway, the Grand Chief wrote a letter in support of his journey. Roderick Rabbitskin spoke to Deputy Grand Chief Ashley Iserhoff about the letter and David's Journey.

Update from cancer survivor David Coonishish on his journey

Earlier this month, a Cree who was recently diagnosed with cancer started "David's Journey". David Coonishish started roller-blading August 12th from Montreal to Chisasibi for Cancer Awareness. Robert Rabbitskin spoke to him en route to Matagami.

Romeo Saganash remembers Jack Layton

Thumbnail image for jacklayton.jpgJack Layton passed away early on the morning of August 22nd at the age of 61, The N.D.P. leader lost his second battle with cancer. He passed away with his family by his side. The news has come as a shock to a lot of Canadians from all political stripes. One of the people in Eeyou Istchee who knew Jack Layton was NDP MP Romeo Saganash. Roderick Rabbitskin spoke with Romeo Saganash.
