Crees and Quebec sign governance agreement
Grand Chief Matthew Coon Come and Quebec Premier Jean Charest signed a Framework Agreement in Principle on May 27th, paving the way to Cree governance. Chiefs, former grand chiefs and heads of Cree entities came together for the event. Quebec's Aboriginal Affairs Minister Geoff Kelley says this means a new way of managing the territory.
