Philip Diamond shows off his Habs shrine

There are a lot of Habs fans in Eeyou Istchee, but maybe the most fanatic of them all is Philip Diamond from Waskaganish. CBC North has spoken with Philip several times over the years because he follows the Montreal Canadiens so closely and seems to know everything about the team. So it was a special treat for Roderick Rabbitskin to visit Waskaganish and sit down with Philip in his room, which is basically a shrine to the Habs.

Meet Nemaska's new chief, Matthew Wapachee

Nemaska people went to the polls on April 13th for the run-off election for chief. The results were: 55% for Matthew Wapachee and 45% for Josie Jimiken. Matthew Iserhoff spoke with the newly elected Chief, Matthew Wapachee, who began by explaining how he found out he had won.

Bye Bye Ben Masty

Maamuitaau has wrapped up its season. From now until October, CBC North's Cree television show will be broadcasting re-runs. But that's not the only sad news. The show's host Ben Masty is also leaving the team. Roderick Rabbitskin invited Ben along with producer Abhish Birla and production assistant Diane Icebound to the Eyou Dipajimoon studio to say goodbye.
