Grand Chief briefs leaders on PM meeting
Cree chiefs met by phone January 15th to discuss Friday's meeting between certain Aboriginal leaders and Prime Minister Stephen Harper. Some chiefs, including Theresa Spence, boycotted the meeting, while Cree Grand Chief Matthew Coon Come attended. Some protesters were upset that the leaders did not take a unified stand. After all this, Assembly of First Nations national chief Shawn Atleo announced that he was temporarily stepping down for health reasons.
