Mount Assiniboine Lodge

Sara Renner grew up in a larch-filled valley near Banff. The Olympic cross-country skier's parents ran an historic lodge in the shadow of towering Mount Assiniboine. And this year, the oldest backcountry ski lodge in the country is getting a facelift. 

The Eyeopener's Brooks DeCillia flew with Renner recently into British Columbia's backcountry where she met up with her brother and father.
