Urban growth

UnCoN_PaNeL.jpgRollin Stanley is the new General Manager for Planning, Development, and Assessment at the City. He has some strong ideas about smart urban growth. In the past he's said that no city is worth visiting if it doesn't have a downtown parking problem.
We wanted the members of our Unconventional Panel to choose a direction for the future of downtown Calgary's one-way streets.
Calgary blogger Shane Byciuk, comedian Cory Mack and George Brookman, the owner of West Canadian Industries made up our panel this week.

Zero grade debate

Lynden Dorval was suspended from his job for giving his students a zero on work they failed to complete. Ross Sheppard High School - like many schools in Alberta - has a "no zero" policy.
There has been plenty of public reaction to this story...so we thought we'd give our Unconventional Panel a crack at it.
Shelley Youngblut is the the western editor of the Globe and Mail newspaper. Mike Morrison of Mike's bloggity blog - and Brett Wilson is the chairman of Canoe Financial and former Dragon on CBC TV's "Dragons Den".
