The Verdun riding is on the south-central edge of Montreal and is made up of the city's borough of the same name. The riding has a high proportion of home renters vs. owners. Its boundaries didn't change in the 2011 revisions.

Political history

The riding has been Liberal since 1966, but other ridings covered portions of its current territory before 1992, and they were less solidly Grit.
