Riding profile

Chapleau is one of the two urban ridings for the city of Gatineau, covering its east end. It is directly across the Ottawa River from the national capital. The riding first existed in the 1981 election, and in the most recent district revisions, lost some territority at its east end while gaining a triangular segment to its west.

The riding has been solidly Liberal since its creation.
