Weekend Wrap: Keeping it all in the family

This French-Canadian celebration at the Ft. Langley Historic Site is going to be a throwback to the days of the early trading days of the Hudson's Bay Company. The whole family will get to try maple taffy, finger weaving, take donkey rides, and even get photographs with one of the 20 feet beavers from the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games. Plus, interactive song and dance all day long from French-Canadian duo, VAZZY.

A dance theatre show that will have you laughing the whole way through. This show stars four talented clowns who have to earn their way to a train ticket home. It's on for one day only at Centennial Theatre.

This concert's will feature an 18 pc jazz band and a choir all doing some of Dizzy Gillespie's biggest hits. Dizzy was a legendary trumpeter in addition to having contributed to the start of bebop and Cuban influenced jazz. You'll hear some of his biggest hits like A Night in Tunisia, Two Bass Hit, and Manteca. 

The annual Chinese New Year takes place this Sunday starting precisely at noon in Vancouver's Chinatown. Get ready for lion dances, firecrackers, and parade teams from across Metro Vancouver including CBC! Prior to the parade, a 2 day festival happens in the plaza of Sun Yat Sen Garden filled with food, music, and plenty of traditional decor.
