Do You Want What I Have Got? A Craiglist Cantata - On now until Feb. 11
Composer and singer Veda Hille and CBC's Bill Richardson have co-produced this show as part of the 2012 Push Festival. Their combined wit have come together and put some of the strangest and most inspired Craigslist ads to song. The show promises to offer 80 minutes of hilarity. It's on now at the Arts Club Theatre.
Dan Savage at the Vogue Theatre - Sat, Jan 21 at 8 pm
est known for his sex column "Savage Love", Dan comes to Vancouver to speak about a global movement he founded last September. The "It Gets Better" campaign motivated celebrities, politicians, and citizens from around the world to speak out against homophobia and bullying against teens. You can hear from Dan Saturday night at 8pm - one night only!
Red at the Vancouver Playhouse - On now until Feb. 4
This play delves into the mind of 20th century painter Mark Rothko. The abstract painter was regarded as a genius by many but his assistant felt his wrath as he struggled with his rise to fame. Directed by Kim Collier, this Tony Award winning play is bound to entertain. Buy your tickets at the Vancouver Playhouse website.
Gung Haggis Fat Choy - Sun, Jan 22 at 6 pm
One of Vancouver's most unique traditions, Gung Haggis Fat Choy combines celebrations for Chinese New Year with Robbie Burns Day. Enjoy a full 10 course dinner complete with deep fried haggis dumplings, live music, poetry, and lots of friends. The night's dress code welcomes everything from cheong sam (traditional Chinese dress) to kilts.
