The Polaroid Party by Team Awesome - This fundraiser is working to send kids in Ethiopia and India to school while kicking up the fun factor. Enjoy Polaroid photo displays from 20 of Vancouver's finest photographers, dance all night to DJs Christine Yurie and The Freshest, and organizers promise some social media related surprises all night long! Party starts at 8pm, Canvas Lounge, tonight (Jan 13)!

Beginner's Guide to Classical Music - The VSO School of Music is offering the first of many lectures for classical music newbies from 3 - 5 pm, Jan 14. Lecturer and VSO viola player Angela Schneider will be sampling musical excerpts, discussing the different periods of classical music, and teaching you what to listen for during a concert. The class heads down to the VSO concert Tchaikovsky and Beethoven in the evening to practice what they've learned. 

Wild Rice New Westminster Cooking Class - aspiring chefs can take part in these Chinese cooking classes headed up by executive chef Todd Bright. The classes take place every Monday night at 6 pm in Wild Rice New Westminster and January's theme is a 4-course vegan menu. Yummy.
