The Ian Hendrickson Smith Quintet - January 6 - 7, The Cellar Jazz Club

One of the most in-demand jazz musicians in New York City, Ian Hendrickson Smith brings his alto saxophone playing talents to Vancouver for two nights. He'll be playing alongside New York Organist Adam Scone, locals Cory Weeds on tenor saxophone, Dave Sikula on guitar, and Jesse Cahill on the drums.

A beautiful film restored by the British Film Institute based on an ill fated 1924 exploration to Antarctica. The film contains some of the first ever moving images captured of the South Pole.

Christmas Tree-Chipping Parties! They're all happening this weekend January 7 - 8

Vancouver (various locations): City of Vancouver and Lions Club Tree Chipping Events. Donations of cash and non-perishable food items will be collected at the events. Trees will be chipped at the event and then composted at the Vancouver landfill.
