Do you know your neighbours? If you don't, it could cost you money.
But Shiral Tobin visits the co-housing community at Yarrow Eco Village to learn if all that sharing leaves people feeling "pinched" for privacy.
You can learn more about co-housing at a meeting this Friday at 7pm at the Abbotsford campus of the University of the Fraser Valley. Basically, like minded people invest in land and a lifestyle together. They share space, friendship, food, and they share the load of living a busy family life. Some seniors are also choosing to explore co-housing for both companionship and extended independence.
While we might not like the "togetherness" of co-housing, knowing your neighbours can help save you money whether it be for shared childcare, tools or trips to the grocery store.
