Is bike tourism on a roll in Vancouver? Some local businesses are gearing up for an increased interest in cycling from tourists. While the seawall has always been popular, additional biking infrastructure means velo-visitors are traveling beyond that well-ridden path.

Josh Bloomfield runs Cycle City Tours, which as seen a big increase in customers this year. According Tourism Vancouver, places like the Granville Island Hotel, the Loden Hotel, Opus, Fairmont Pacific Rim, Burrard Hotel, and St Regis Hotel offer bike rentals or loaners to guests. The Wedgewood Hotel goes the extra mile for cyclists, with perks that include a personal guided tour of the North Shore mountains with GM Philip Meyer, who is a serious road racer. (He's also heavily involved with the hotel's bike team, which raises money for the BC Cancer Foundation.
