Biking in Richmond

Richmond is probably more known for traffic jams than it is for bikes. It has one of the highest per capita rates of car ownership in the region. But it also has over 50 km of designated bike routes, some of them dating back to the 1980s.

I went for a short spin around downtown Richmond with Joan Caravan (City of Richmond Transportation Planner) and Larry Pamer (Richmond Community Cycling Committee) to preview some new bike routes on the works for Richmond and discuss some of the plans to try to increase bike use in the future.
