High Velocity: Pedal Power

If you want to put your bike to work to fight everything from cancer to poverty, there is probably a charity ride out there for you. We spoke with Todd Sankey, a three-time Ride to Conquer Cancer participant...on his unicycle. He rode over 240 km from Vancouver to Seattle in memory of his mother and grandparents.

We also heard from Martina Meckova of Cystic Fibrosis Canada's Vancouver Chapter. She rode 1200 km over 9 days in the the annual GearUp4CF Ride, which is in progress right now. You don't need to ride the whole distance from Banff to Vancouver to take part...this year riders are invited to join 15 rides on their final leg from Chilliwack to BC Children's Hospital this Sunday.

There are many other charity rides happening this summer, including Riding to Break the Cycle, the Rona MS Bike Tour, and the Ride for Hope.
