Gabriel Fauré's birthday today, and I can never get enough of "Pavane", heard this morning from Arturo Sandoval's new album.

Also, RIP John Walker of the Walker Brothers fame, and Penny in Vancouver requested a tune by Phil Ochs, as the DOXA film fest is running a documentary on Phil tomorrow night.

And seeing that it's also the birthday of the late Ian Dury, Daphne in Cranbrook needs some "Reasons to be Cheerful".
