Juno I was gonna do this...

We start our week-long salute to past Juno winner and nominees as it's the 40th anniversary of the Junos this coming Sunday.

Expect to hear things you haven't heard in a long time, or at all perhaps!

Started with one you might have... 1994 was a very big year for the Rankin Family, cleaning up thanks to a song written by Jimmy Rankin that I'm sure will one day turn into a standard.

Then we head to Salt Spring Island, where Valdy resides (just finished hearing him on NXNW this past Saturday) and Sheree Jeacocke, who was nominated as most promising female vocalist in 1986... who after two albums became a realtor in Toronto.

And the Stampeders did very well at the Junos in 1972 thanks to "Sweet City Woman", but before that another one of their tunes reached #2 on the charts...
